Production of Terpenes
Making the most of Nature’s
Blessings – Terpenes evolved through science
Turpentine oil is obtained from pine resin or pine chips, and depending on the extraction method, it is classified as gum turpentine, sulfate turpentine, or wood turpentine. Orange oil is a by-product of the orange juice extraction process. At Yasuhara Chemical, turpentine oil and orange oil are imported by tanker from overseas and stored in tanks at domestic plants. The imported oils are distilled and purified at the plant to separate various terpene components, which are then processed into products such as terpene resins, chemical products, and functional compounds.
