Terpene Resins
Terpene resins are used in diversified applications and markets
As one of our core products, terpene resins are widely used as tackifiers for adhesives. They offer broad compatibility by either homopolymerizing terpene monomers—biomass-based raw materials—or copolymerizing them with other components. Using advanced molecular weight control technology, we offer a wide range of products from low to high softening points. Furthermore, hydrogenated terpene and terpene phenol resins exhibit superior transparency, thermal stability, and weather resistance. As naturally derived tackifiers, they are highly regarded across various markets as components in adhesives and as polymer modifiers.
- Terpene-based resins are essential materials for manufacturing adhesives and pressure-sensitive adhesives.
- They exhibit broad compatibility with various elastomers and polymers, delivering well-balanced adhesion and cohesion when formulated into adhesives.
- By adjusting the degree of modification by grade, they can be compatible with a wide range of substrates—from low to high polarity—enhancing adhesion to difficult surfaces such as polyolefins.
Applications:Labels and tapes, medical adhesives, hot-melt adhesives, sealants

- Terpene resins made from biomass are easily compatible with polyolefins (PE, PP), improving optical properties such as transparency and UV resistance, adhesion to substrates, heat sealability, and flowability during molding.
- Suitable for food packaging films requiring moisture and oxygen barrier properties.
- Terpene phenol resins improve flowability and filler dispersion when blended with engineering plastics such as PMMA and PC.
Applications: Tires, food containers, asphalt modification, housings
- Used in inks to improve adhesion to substrates and modify coating surfaces.
- Also used to enhance filler and pigment dispersion and as compatibilizers.
Applications: Inks, coatings, toners
