Meeting Customer Challenges and
Needs — That’s the Core of Our R&D

Our R&D philosophy is rooted in customer-centric innovation. We start by understanding our customers and sharing their values. By identifying their challenges and needs—and aligning with broader societal demands — we continuously develop and improve new technologies. These innovations then lead to products and solutions that expand our business domains. Our ultimate goal in R&D is to become a trusted partner for our customers, and we will continue to pursue this mission in the future.

Yasuhara Chemical's Core Technology

  • Precision Distillation

Natural essential oils contain many components, and their composition and ratios vary depending on the origin. Our precision distillation technology separates and purifies these components and controls their purity—this is the foundation of our product quality.

  • Isomerization

A key organic synthesis technique that alters chemical structure without changing molecular formula. It is especially used to convert one terpene structure into another.

  • Derivatization

Using our unique organic synthesis expertise, equipment, and know-how, we convert chemicals into other functional derivatives. This technology has been evolved through the development of terpene chemical transformation.

  • Polymerization

This core technology supports our resin business by polymerizing terpene essential oils. We precisely control molecular weight, polarity, and softening point according to customer requirements.

  • Kneading & Processing

Our expertise in kneading and molding, developed through hot melt adhesive production, allows us to continuously and stably knead even high-MFR formulations. We also offer customized processing such as anti-blocking and pillow-type shaping to meet specific needs.

  • Formulation Technology

Our formulation technology has evolved through terpene resin evaluation and hot melt adhesive development. It enables us to precisely meet the diverse customer needs, especially in the adhesive and tackifier sectors.

  • Advanced Analysis

We support development and quality assurance through a wide range of analytical techniques, including optical analysis, chromatogram analysis, trace element analysis, etc.

  • Hydrogenation

This high-pressure hydrogen addition process significantly improves transparency, light resistance, and thermal stability of resin and chemical products. Utilizing this technology, we supply global niche products.
